Assetworks Discovery provides fully-automated enterprise asset discovery. When Assetworks is deployed on an organization’s network, it will automatically discover the computers, printers, networks switches and most other devices that are attached to the network. Assetworks Discovery automates the collection of this data, and builds a comprehensive repository of Inventory information uncovered by the discovery process.
In organizations where the number of PCs and printers are in the 100s or 1000s it is not practical, cost-effective or accurate to visit each PC to perform a manual audit. Today’s computing environments are so dynamic that a PC’s software configuration can change daily, with automatic patch distribution such as Microsoft’s Automatic Update solution. Assetworks will collect comprehensive information about every PC’s hardware confi guration (memory, processor, disc etc), the operating system, installed software products, peripherals such as modems, printers and scanners, network confi guration details and key information including make, model and serial number.
 In addition to PC’s, Assetworks Discovery will also discover network-attached printers and most network devices such as routers, switches, hubs, radio base stations and other TCP/IP enabled devices.
In addition to the many new features, a comprehensive training course is available that covers the configuration and use of Assetworks, and comprehensive product documentation is provided with the product for reference.
